Mableton established its municipal court in 2025 and appointed its first leadership team. This court handles various local ordinance violations and certain criminal charges within the City of Mableton. Our legal team represents people in their teens and twenties facing charges in this newly formed court.
Facing charges can be stressful and confusing, especially when dealing with a new court system. The sooner you contact our team, the sooner we can begin developing a defense strategy aligned with your goals.
In September 2025, the Mableton City Council took a historic step by appointing Judge Che A. Karega II as the city’s first Chief Judge and Flynn D. Broady Jr. as its inaugural Solicitor (Prosecuting Attorney).
Judge Karega brings extensive experience to the bench. He has served as a Cobb County Magistrate Court Judge since 2021 and has more than 20 years of litigation experience, including work as a managing partner of his own law firm, a public defender in Atlanta, and a practicing attorney in Detroit.
Solicitor Broady is a U.S. Army veteran with 26 years of service. His prosecutorial experience includes serving as Cobb County District Attorney and Assistant Solicitor General.
Mableton Municipal Court has jurisdiction over violations of city ordinances and certain misdemeanor offenses that occur within the city limits. Common cases that may be heard in Mableton Municipal Court include:
Criminal Charges
Traffic Violations
Code Enforcement Violations
Many people assume municipal court cases don’t require legal representation because the charges seem low-level. This assumption can lead to serious consequences.
Even municipal court convictions create a permanent criminal record. This record can affect your ability to get into college, qualify for financial aid, obtain professional licenses, secure employment, and pursue other opportunities.
Your future matters. One mistake in handling a municipal court case can create problems that follow you for years.
Our legal team understands that you’re not just facing a charge. You’re facing uncertainty about how this situation will impact your life, your education, your career plans, and your future opportunities.
Our defense strategy entirely depends on your goals.
We don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach. The strategy we develop for your case must be in alignment with your short-term and long-term goals. If we determine it makes sense for you and our team to work together, we’ll spend time getting to know and understand your goals. Based on what you want to see happen, we’ll develop a strategy that we will recommend to you. If you agree that the strategy aligns with your goals, we will proceed with implementing it.
For people in their teens and twenties, we understand your primary concerns are typically:
These concerns drive our defense strategy, not simply “winning” the case in court.

According to Mayor Michael Owens, Mableton is committed to creating “a court system that is fair, transparent, and designed to serve every resident with integrity.”
The city’s investment in modern case management software and appointment of experienced leadership suggest Mableton Municipal Court will operate efficiently and professionally.
However, efficiency in processing cases doesn’t always serve the best interests of defendants. Having a legal team that understands how to navigate the system, protect your rights, and fight for your interests is critical to achieving a favorable outcome.
Many of Mableton Municipal Courtโs hearings are being conducted virtually via Zoom at this time.
Paying a ticket is the same as pleading guilty. This can create a criminal record that can affect your future. Before simply paying any citation, contact our team to discuss your options.
You have the right to represent yourself, but this is rarely advisable. Even in municipal court, prosecutors are trained legal professionals building a case against you. Having your own legal team levels the playing field and significantly improves your chances of a favorable outcome.
This depends on the specific charge and circumstances. Many municipal court cases can be resolved without jail time, especially for first-time offenders. Our team works to minimize or eliminate the possibility of incarceration.
This varies depending on the complexity of the case and court scheduling. Some cases can be resolved in a single court appearance, while others may require multiple hearings. We work to resolve your case as efficiently as possible while still achieving the best outcome.
If you or someone you care about is facing charges that will be heard in Mableton Municipal Court, contact our legal team to see if we can help.
The establishment of Mableton’s municipal court means local law enforcement and city officials will be actively enforcing ordinances and bringing cases through this new system. Don’t face these charges alone.
Contact our team to schedule a consultation where we’ll discuss your situation, explain your options, and begin developing a strategy to protect your future.
Time is critical. The sooner you get help, the more options you’ll have. Call our office now to get started.
